What is Pipe coupling?

A coupling is a device which is a very short length of pipe or tube. A Pipe coupling is used to connect the pipes of the same diameter with a socket at one or both ends that allows two pipes or tubes to be joined, welded, brazed or soldered together.

  • Half-coupling –Half-couplings is only threaded at one end. The other end is welded or otherwise fastened to the piping. Hoses often connect using a half-coupling.
  • Full-coupling –In full-coupling both the ends are threaded. It used to connect two pipes or pipe to swage.

Types of Pipe coupling:

Generally, there are two types of couplings are available.

  • Compression coupling – Compression coupling is regular coupling which is connected between two pipes and it prevents leakage by the arrangement of gaskets or rubber seals on both sides, otherwise, glue is provided.
  • Slip coupling – Slip coupling is easier to install and it contains two pipes of the same diameter which are arranged as one into other. The inner pipe can slide up to some length. Slip coupling is used to fix long length damaged pipe.

A pipe coupling is a device used to connect two pipes or tubes at their ends to transmit power. The main purpose of couplings is to join two pieces of rotating equipment (pipe or tube) while permitting some degree of misalignment or end movement or both. Let us discuss the types of PVC Pipes and its advantages.

PVC Pipes and its uses:

There are different types of pipes among them PVC pipes are the best.PVC pipes have clear environmental advantages over traditional materials. The reason why PVC pipes are mostly preferred is that PVC pipes are low carbon plastic. These pipes require less energy and fewer resources to manufacture. Due to their low weight, less energy is consumed when transported.

These pipes are plastic pipe commonly used for plumbing and drainage. PVC pipes long lasting pipes with a minimum of maintenance and they are easily recyclable. PVC pipe price is nearly Rs 8000 per piece for a 6 m length pipe. PVC pipe price is costlier than HDPE pipes, as it is nor stronger as PVC pipes .most of house-related works is done using PVC Pipes. PVC Pipes can be used in drinking water (hot and cold). PVC Pipes also used in plumbing. There are different PVC Pipes used for various purposes.

Advantages of using PVC Pipes:

PVC pipes hold more advantages than any other pipes. Let us see the advantages of PVC pipes compared to other pipes.

  • Lightweight
  • Flexibility
  • Watertight Joints
  • Coefficient of Friction
  • Safe Material
  • Longer Lengths
  • Flame Resistance
  • Design Versatility

PVC pipes have good mechanical strength. PVC pipes are easy to cut and can be handled easily. PVC pipes price is also not expensive. Considering these advantages PVC pipes are mostly preferred by people. PVC pipes have good mechanical strength. PVC pipes are easy to cut and can be handled easily. PVC pipe price is also not too expensive
